My name is Nakia Nixon, and I serve as your
2009-2010 Georgia Phi Beta Lambda Historian. I am the proud mother
of three sons: Jermaine 19,
Tevin 17, and Trey 15. I am a native of New Jersey and am currently
residing in Jesup, Georgia, as of 2003. Currently, I am enrolled at
Altamaha Technical College, Jesup campus, pursuing a diploma in
Marketing. In addition to being a state officer, I serve as my local
PBL Chapter Vice President, as an Altamaha Technical College
Ambassador, and as a member (former Reporter/Historian) of the
Student Leadership Council. I volunteer with the following projects:
Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Pennies for Pampers, and Dogwood
Festival. I am an active member of my church, Bennett Union, where I
serve as a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, and a youth
department worker. I also serve as a Band Booster member at WCHS
where my sons are band members (Go WCHS Band!). My hobbies include:
reading, writing poetry, cooking, playing pool, and meeting new
people. I dream of becoming a motivational speaker and a long-term
goal of becoming an entrepreneur.
